In the past, I had a section on my website that offered a primer on checkering. In time it became apparent that there was a need for an updated, thorough and organized checkering course.

I spent three years writing that course, photographing my own work as I progressed through each stage of the checkering process.

The book is 8 1/2" by 11" printed in full color. I've chosen to have it printed in spiral bound form, as I feel that is the best way for the student to be able to lay it flat for reference while he performs the tasks. Pages are printed on 80# paper for strength and durability.

While writing this course, I've tried to think of everything that wasn't covered by instructions available to me when I first started learning to checker in 1975.
